RACINE COUNTY, WI — A 47-year-old man has died after a motorcycle collision Friday night that claimed the life of his female passenger in Caledonia, reports WISN.

The fatal accident occurred in the area of 6 Mile Road and Douglas Avenue (Wisconsin Highway 32) on September 2, at around 7:00 p.m.

Caledonia Police said the man was operating a motorcycle eastbound on 6 Mile Road when he failed to stop at a red light at the intersection. As the motorcycle proceeded, it was struck by a northbound vehicle.

Officials said the impact of the crash caused both the operator and his passenger, a 46-year-old woman, to be thrown from the bike.

The female rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

First responders rushed the male operator to a local hospital with critical injuries, where he later died.

No further information has been provided at this time.
