WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — A 71-year-old woman died Monday after she and her dog were struck by a vehicle in Hartland’s Northfield area, according to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The fatal accident happened at Merton Avenue and East Capitol Drive (Lisbon Avenue). Hartland Police responded to the scene at around 11:13 a.m.
Officials did not say what led up to the crash, but first responders arrived to find the female pedestrian and her dog had been hit by a vehicle driven by a 90-year-old woman from Delafield.
The victim was rushed by Hartland Fire Department crews to Summit’s Aurora Medical Center, where she later died as a result of her injuries.
No further details have been shared at this time, but the Hartland Police Department continues to investigate.
