FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI — A 27-year-old man was arrested Sunday morning after his car struck a parked Fond du Lac Police Department cruiser in Fond du Lac, reports NBC26.
The incident occurred in front of the Sheriff Department Dispatch Center, located on 180 South Macy Street. It was first reported by NBC26 at 8:55 a.m.
Officials said the squad car was legally parked facing westbound along the roadway when it was rear-ended by the man’s westbound sedan.
No one was in the parked vehicle at the time and no injuries were reported, but both vehicles were significantly damaged and had to be towed from the site.
The causing driver was taken into custody after being suspected of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
