MILWAUKEE, WI — A Milwaukee County Transit System bus crashed into a building early Sunday as a result of a two-vehicle wreck in Milwaukee’s south side, reports FOX6 Milwaukee.
The series of crashes occurred near South 11th Street and West Mitchell Street, in the city’s Historic Mitchel Street neighborhood. Milwaukee Police responded to the scene shortly after 1:00 a.m.
According to authorities, a Chevy Blazer hit the MCTS bus, which then slammed into a building.
The bus driver and a passenger, the only occupants of the bus, both suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital.
Officials said the driver the causing Chevy Blazer fled the scene on foot. Photos taken at the scene show significant front-end end damage to the abandoned vehicle.
