CALUMET COUNTY, WI — A 60-year-old died Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in Harrison, according to The Post-Crescent.
Deputies with the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on Old Highway Road near Lakeview Court shortly after 7:00 a.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates the male cyclist was traveling eastbound when he was hit from behind by an eastbound vehicle driven by a 16-year-old girl.
Deputies and first responders arrived to find the victim, a Menasha resident, deceased at the scene.
The teen driver remained after the crash and cooperated with authorities.
An investigation is in progress, but police said the “brightness of the sun” at the time of the incident is believed to have been a contributing factor.
