SHAWANO COUNTY, WI — A 45-year-old Hilbert-area man died Tuesday afternoon after his motorcycle struck a pickup truck on Wisconsin Highway 29 in Richmond, reports We Are Green Bay.
The fatal crash happened near the intersection with County Road MMM, shortly before 12:20 p.m.
According to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, a 20-year-old Missouri man was driving a pickup truck across WIS-29 from County Road MMM to Clark Drive at the same time the motorcyclist was traveling in the slow lane of WIS-29.
Officials said the pickup truck was traveling across WIS-29 when the motorcycle hit its passenger side, causing the rider to eject.
First responders applied life-saving measures to the rider at the scene prior to airlifting him to a local hospital. The patient was later pronounced deceased.
The driver of the pickup, who was not reported hurt, stayed at the site of the crash and cooperated with officers.
An investigation was in progress.
