WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI — A 49-year-old Appleton woman died Thursday morning after a single-vehicle rollover wreck on U.S. Highway 45 near Winneconne, reports We Are Green Bay.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office and multiple other agencies responded to the scene on the southbound highway near the ramp to eastbound U.S. Highway 10 (Exit 276). The accident was reported shortly before 9:30 a.m.
An early investigation shows the Appleton woman was driving a truck southbound when, for unknown reasons, she lost control of the vehicle. The truck then veered into the south ditch and overturned, causing the driver to eject from the vehicle.
First responders applied life-saving measures to the victim, but she died as a result of her injuries.
No other occupants were involved and no other injuries were reported.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is being handled by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
