MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — An 18-year-old Greenfield resident was hospitalized Tuesday morning after a pedestrian crash at a West Allis intersection, according to CBS58.
The incident took place on a span of the highway (South 108th Street) at West Lincoln Avenue, north of West Allis Center. It was first reported shortly after 6:15 a.m.
An early investigation shows a 57-year-old woman was driving northbound on South 108th Street when she struck the teen pedestrian, who police said was walking across the roadway against traffic signals.
The victim suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Officials said the driver stayed after the crash and cooperated with responding officers.
An investigation remains in progress, but speed and intoxication are not believed to have contributed to the event.
