RACINE COUNTY, WI — An 18-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured Wednesday night in a wreck involving another vehicle off Wisconsin Highway 11 near Yorkville, reports TMJ4.
The collision occurred on a span of the highway (Durand Avenue) between South Sylvania Avenue and 56th Road, shortly before 10:00 p.m.
It remains unclear what caused the crash, but deputies with the Racine County Sheriff’s Office arrived to find a black Harley Davidson motorcycle and a silver Nissan Rogue crashed off the road. Both vehicles were found seriously damaged and at rest in a ditch.
The teen rider, a Union Grove resident, suffered life-threatening injuries. He was airlifted to Froedtert Hospital, where his condition remains undisclosed.
The other driver, a 43-year-old woman, was not hurt.
At this time, an investigation by the RCSO and the Wisconsin State Patrol Accident Reconstruction Team is ongoing.
