WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — A 29-year-old Milwaukee man was hospitalized Thursday afternoon after a police pursuit that ended in a collision in northwest Brookfield, reports TMJ4.
The wreck occurred in the area of North Barker Road and West Capitol Drive, near Toyota Brookfield, shortly after 12:15 p.m.
According to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office, a Village of Pewaukee Police officer initially tried to pull over a vehicle occupied by a wanted subject.
The wanted subject, who was a passenger in the vehicle, exited the car at the corner of Capitol and Five Fields and was taken into custody. Moments later, the driver fled the scene, prompting a chase.
Authorities said the fleeing driver then crashed at Capitol and Barker. He was taken into custody and was airlifted to a local hospital. No updates on his condition have been shared, but his injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
