MILWAUKEE, WI — Three people were hospitalized Saturday after a police chase ended with a two-vehicle crash in north Milwaukee’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, reports FOX6 Milwaukee.
The collision occurred in the area of North 19th Street and West Hampton Avenue at around 5:00 p.m.
Milwaukee Police said the events first unfolded about two miles away at 40th and Villard, where officers tried to pull over a car driving recklessly. When the driver sped away, officers pursued the vehicle until it collided with a delivery truck and overturned.
The 29-year-old male driver of the suspect vehicle and his 32-year-old male passenger were placed under custody and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
One occupant in the delivery truck, a 39-year-old man, also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital
Authorities noted they recovered “suspected illegal” drugs and firearms from the fleeing vehicle. The suspects are facing criminal charges as referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
