MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — Two 15-year-olds were hospitalized last Friday, July 8, after being struck by a vehicle at an intersection in northwest Wauwatosa, according to FOX6 Milwaukee.
The incident took place in the area of Menomonee River Parkway and West North Avenue at about 9:15 a.m.
An early investigation indicates the teenagers were running northbound on the trail along the west end of Menomonee River Parkway. As they crossed North Avenue, they were hit by a vehicle that was turning left into the intersection.
Both victims suffered undisclosed injuries and were transported to Children’s Wisconsin. No updates on their conditions have been released, but officials said the patients are expected to make a full recovery.
The 20-year-old drive, who was not reported hurt, cooperated with officers at the scene.
An investigation by the Wauwatosa Police Department Crash Investigation Unit remains underway. At this time, authorities do not believe reckless driving or intoxication factored into the crash.
