MILWAUKEE, WI — Two people were taken to a hospital Friday morning after an SUV struck a MCTS bus in Milwaukee’s Polonia neighborhood, reports TMJ4.
The accident happened in the area of South 13th Street and West Dakota Street, shortly before 6:30 a.m.
Officials with the Milwaukee County Transit System said the bus was traveling southbound when a 31-year-old woman driving an eastbound SUV failed to stop at a stop sign, causing a crash. The impact of the crash sent the bus against a building, where it came to rest.
The driver of the bus, a 58-year-old woman, and a 71-year-old male passenger, were evaluated at an area hospital. The severity of their conditions have not been disclosed.
The driver of the SUV was not reported injured. She has since been issued a citation.
