MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — Two people, including a Glendale Police Department officer, were hurt in a collision early Friday near southeast Glendale, reports TMJ4.
The wreck occurred in the area of North 13th Street and Silver Spring Drive, near the Lexus of Milwaukee dealership, at about 1:16 p.m.
Details remain limited, but authorities said a driver veered past the median and collided with a marked Glendale squad car.
The impact of the crash left the striking vehicle extensively damaged, with both doors appearing to be torn off. Airbags in the police vehicle deployed.
Both the striking driver and the officer were taken to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries, but the officer has since been released. The other driver was reported to be in stable condition.
A section of Silver Spring Drive was closed for multiple hours during the response and investigation.
At this time, reckless driving has been determined to be the cause of the accident.
