WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — A 24-year-old man died Sunday night after a pedestrian crash that left his sister critically injured in southeast Menomonee Falls, according to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The fatal incident occurred in the parking lot of Pick ‘n Save, located at N77 W14435 Appleton Avenue, across from Menomonee Falls High School. Authorities first received reports shortly before 10:10 p.m.

An early investigation indicates an 18-year-old Germantown woman was behind the wheel of a vehicle when she lost control and hit the young man and his 25-year-old sister. The siblings had just finished viewing a fireworks show that had begun at dusk at the high school.

The victims, both of North Carolina, were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officials said the man was later pronounced deceased.

Menomonee Falls Police noted in a news release that the driver cooperated with investigators at the scene. Impairment is not believed to have been a factor.

No injuries to the driver or her two juvenile passengers were reported.

No further details have been released at this time, but an investigation remains ongoing.
