MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — A 27-year-old Greenfield man was taken into custody Wednesday night after a collision that claimed the life of a 4-year-old boy in West Allis, reports CBS58.
The fatal wreck occurred in the area of South 108th Street and West National Avenue at around 8:45 p.m.
Milwaukee Police said a the suspect was driving a vehicle southbound at a high rate of speed when he rear-ended another vehicle.
All three occupants in the victim vehicle, including a 50-year-old woman, a 46-year-old woman, and the young boy, suffered serious injuries and were rushed to local hospitals. The child later died from his injuries, confirmed officials.
As of this writing, one of the female victims was listed in stable condition while the other will require surgery for her injuries.
The suspect, who was arrested for operating while intoxicated, was also transported to a hospital with undisclosed injuries. He faces charges from the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
