WASHINGTON COUNTY, WI — A man was hospitalized Monday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle on Wisconsin Highway 45 in Kewaskum, according to FOX6 Milwaukee.
The incident took place near Prospect Drive at around 2:30 p.m.
Authorities said the crash was witnessed and first reported by an on-duty deputy, who rendered aid to the pedestrian before first responders arrived.
The circumstances behind the crash have not been shared at this time, but the victim, believed to be in his 60s, suffered visible head injuries. After being stabilized at the scene, he was rushed by ambulance to a hospital in West Bend but was later airlifted to Froedtert Hospital in critical condition.
It is unclear at this time whether any charges are expected to be filed, but the driver stayed after the crash and was cooperating with investigators.
