VERNON COUNTY, WI — A 74-year-old Milwaukee woman was seriously injured Friday afternoon in a motorcycle accident while riding with a group near the Town of Forest, reports WIProud.
The wreck occurred on Wisconsin State Highway 33, west of Vet Road, at around 4:02 p.m.
According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, the woman was riding the last motorcycle with a large group of other riders when she failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Officials said the bike ran hundreds of feet off the highway before it collided with a culvert. The impact of the crash caused the motorcycle to go airborne before it flipped and ejected the woman.
Medics rushed the victim by ambulance to Gundersen St. Joseph’s in Hillsboro with serious condition. No updates have been released at this time, but the patient’s injuries were said to be non-life-threatening.
No other injuries have been reported, and no other vehicles were involved.
