WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — One person was hurt Tuesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle accident after suffering a medical episode near northeast Waukesha, reports Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The crash happened on East Moreland Boulevard, just west of East Main Street, at around 12:51 p.m.
Waukesha Police said the victim was driving a pickup truck westbound when they veered past the centerline and onto oncoming traffic before crashing a little south of the eastbound side. The vehicle had overturned, leaving the driver trapped.
Officials soon learned the victim had a firearm in the vehicle which initially delayed the rescue response until crews could secure the weapon.
The patient was then extricated from the wreckage and treated at the scene by Waukesha Fire crews before being transported to a local hospital. No updates on the patient’s condition has been shared at this time.
Two other vehicles are said to have been involved, but it was unclear how they were impacted. No other injuries were reported in the event.
