KENOSHA COUNTY, WI — A 71-year-old man died Thursday afternoon after suffering a medical emergency and crashing his vehicle into a pole off County Highway A in the Village of Somers, reports FOX6 Milwaukee.
Deputies responded to the scene on the eastbound highway at around 1:30 p.m.
An early investigation indicates the man was driving a black 2015 Ford F-150 pickup truck eastbound when he veered past the center line. Moments later, he collided with a utility pole along the north ditch.
The victim, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was rushed to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Officials said he is believed to have died from the medical issue, and not from injuries sustained in the crash.
Tow services were called for the Ford, which was significantly damaged in the wreck.
No further information has been provided at this time. Anyone with information on the accident is urged to reach the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department at (262) 605-5100.
