BROWN COUNTY, WI — A 9-year-old girl died Tuesday morning after being hit by a driver near Harbor Lights Lake in the village of Suamico, according to We Are Green Bay.
Deputies with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene near Harbor Winds Drive and Bay Mist Court at about 7:30 a.m.
Details are limited, but officials believe the child was running along a 2019 GMC Yukon as it drove on Harbor Winds Drive. At one point, the girl fell and was struck by the SUV.
The victim died as a result of her injuries.
The driver of the SUV, identified as the child’s mother, cooperated with an investigation. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to have contributed to the crash.
