MILWAUKEE, WI — A woman died Sunday evening after a collision that injured another on Interstate 43/94 near Milwaukee’s Tippecanoe neighborhood, according to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The fatal accident occurred on the northbound lanes near West Howard Avenue at about 7:16 p.m.
It was not immediately clear what caused the wreck, but only one vehicle appears to have been involved.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed one adult woman died from her injuries at the scene. Another person suffered undisclosed injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The offramp and all northbound lanes in the area were blocked during the emergency response. Officials said the closure was expected to remain in place for over three hours, but shortly after 10:30 p.m., all lanes were reopened to traffic.
An investigation by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office was underway.
