MILWAUKEE, WI — A 34-year-old man crashed his vehicle into a light pole early Wednesday after being hit by gunfire in Milwaukee’s Amani neighborhood, reports FOX6 Milwaukee.
The crash happened in the area of West North Avenue and North 21st Street, near the West Fond du Lac Avenue overpass. It was first reported shortly after 1:31 a.m.
According to Milwaukee Police, the man was driving at the time he was struck by gunfire and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The shooting then caused him to collide with a light pole.
The severity of his crash injuries remains unclear, but officials said the patient was transported to a nearby hospital where he is expected to survive.
Milwaukee Police continue to investigate and search for at least one unknown suspect. The incident is believed to have resulted from a road rage incident.
