MILWAUKEE, WI — A 72-year-old man was fatally injured Sunday afternoon when he was hit by a driver in Milwaukee’s North Division neighborhood, according to TMJ4.
The fatal incident occurred at the intersection of North 20th Street and West Burleigh Street, near Union Cemetery, shortly after 1:00 p.m.
An early investigation shows the pedestrian was standing at one corner of the intersection when a vehicle ran a red light and was struck by another car. Authorities said the impact of the crash sent the first vehicle crashing into the victim.
Medics rushed the patient to a local hospital with serious injuries. He was later pronounced deceased.
No further information has been shared at this time, but the Milwaukee Police Department said an investigation remains underway.
