MILWAUKEE, WI — A 30-year-old woman early Saturday after being ejected in a single-car collision near Milwaukee’s Heritage Heights neighborhood, reports TMJ4.

According to Milwaukee Police, the fatal wreck occurred in the area of North 107th Street and West Fond du Lac Avenue, shortly after 2:00 a.m.

An early investigation found a 31-year-old man was behind the wheel of a vehicle when he lost control, drove off the roadway and crashed.

Authorities said the impact of the crash caused his female passenger to be thrown from the car. It was unclear whether she had been wearing a seat belt.

The victim was rushed to an area hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Responding officers arrested the driver after suspecting him of intoxication at the scene.

No further details have been shared at this time, but officials said criminal charges will be handled by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
