MILWAUKEE, WI — A 26-year-old man died early Sunday after a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 41 in Milwaukee’s Mill Valley area, reports Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office said the fatal wreck occurred on the southbound lanes near Appleton Avenue. It was first reported shortly after 8:00 a.m.
It was unclear what led up to the accident, but the male driver and sole occupant was ejected from the vehicle. Authorities indicated he was killed in the crash.
All southbound lanes between Good Hope Road and Appleton Avenue were shut down at around 6:45 a.m. during the emergency response. Several hours later, at 10:15 a.m., all lanes were reopened to traffic.
No further information has been released at this time, but the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office was expected to perform an autopsy Monday.
