OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, WI — A woman was arrested last Saturday evening near the town of Grand Chute after fleeing the scene of a crash and breaking into a nearby home to hide, according to NBC26.

Police responded to the crash on Interstate 41 northbound near Lynndale Drive in the early morning.

An early investigation indicates the suspect had slammed into the side of another vehicle and pushed it into a ditch.

The female driver and a passenger in the victim car were not reported injured but were left trapped and had to be extricated from the wreckage.

Witnesses saw the female driver of the striking car flee the scene on foot. She was later observed breaking into and entering a residence on Fox Glove Drive, where she hid until she was apprehended by police.

Responding officers used Narcan on the suspect after she fell unconscious. She was taken to a local hospital for medical clearance before being booked into Outagamie County Jail.

Officials said the suspect faces 16 criminal charges and is expected to appear in court on May 31 for a preliminary hearing.
