DODGE COUNTY, WI — A Badger Bus caught caught fire Thursday afternoon near a gas station in east Beaver Dam, according to TMJ4.
Crews with the Beaver Dam Fire Department responded to the scene behind a Cenex station off Raceway Road shortly after 1:00 p.m.
The circumstances behind the incident were unclear, but before firefighters arrived, a Badger Bus employee tried to put out the fire with an fire extinguisher. Other employees of Badger Bus and the nearby United Cooperative worked to move other buses out of the way.
Within five minutes after their arrival, fire crews were able to contain the blaze and remained on the scene for about 45 minutes following the event.
A photo taken at the scene shows what what appears to be the charred remains of a school bus.
No one appeared to have been on the bus at the time, and no injuries were reported.
No further details have been released at this time, but an investigation into the cause of the fire was underway.
