WOOD COUNTY, WI — Two people were injured, one critically, Monday evening after a two-vehicle wreck on County Highway N in the township of Richfield, reports Hub City Times.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Department and multiple area agencies responded to the scene near Bethel Road, shortly before 6:00 p.m.

According to authorities, a 32-year-old Marshfield man was driving a car westbound on the highway when he collided head-on with an eastbound dump truck driven by a 65-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man.

Medics rushed the Marshfield man to Marshfield Medical Center, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

The driver of the dump truck suffered minor injuries and has since been released from the hospital.

A section of the highway was shut down for several hours during the emergency response.

No further information has been made available at this time, but an investigation was underway.
