DODGE COUNTY, WI — Two people were hospitalized Monday morning after a passenger car struck a dump truck on County Highway P near north Rubicon, according to FOX6 Milwaukee.

The accident occurred on a span of the highway between County Highway NP and Butler Road.

An early investigation indicates a 55-year-old Palmyra woman was driving a car northbound when she veered past the center line and collided with a southbound dump truck. The impact of the crash caused the dump truck to overturn and unload its cargo of aggregate onto the roadway.

Two other passenger cars were also said to have been hit in the crash and came to a stop on the side of the road.

A 42-year-old Rubicon man, described as an occupant of the dump truck, suffered potentially seriously injuries. He was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

The driver of the striking car was transported to a hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.

No one else was reported hurt, and no further information has been made available at this time.

A section of County Highway P was shut down and expected to remain blocked as crews worked to clear debris from the roadway.

An investigation was in progress.
