WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — Two men were taken into custody early Thursday after crashing a stolen vehicle during a police chase in Brookfield, reports TMJ4.
The collision occurred on Interstate 94 near the Moorland Road onramp shortly after 4:00 a.m.
According to City of Brookfield Police Department, the events unfolded at a parking lot near Club Circle and Greenway Terrace, where officers spotted two individuals looking into vehicles with a flashlight. Authorities said the black Kia Sportage the suspects were driving matched a description of a recently stolen car.
The suspects soon fled northbound on Moorland Road and entered I-94, where the Kia crashed shortly after. The male suspects attempted to flee the scene on foot, but were later found and arrested.
Police confirmed the suspect vehicle to be stolen, and recovered property, including a handgun, linked to multiple previous vehicle break-ins.
Both suspects face multiple charges to be referred to the Waukesha County District Attorneys’ office.
