MILWAUKEE, WI — One person was arrested early Thursday after crashing their car into another vehicle during a police pursuit near Milwaukee’s Marquette University, reports TMJ4.
The collision occurred at the corner of North 17th Street and West Wells Street, shortly after 1:25 a.m.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the events unfolded when officers tried to conduct a traffic stop after observing a vehicle drug deal. Authorities said the driver sped away, prompting a chase.
The fleeing driver later collided with another vehicle at the intersection. The suspect then attempted to flee the scene on foot, but was apprehended and taken into custody.
No further information has been shared, but authorities said drugs and a firearm were recovered from the suspect’s vehicle.
It was unclear whether anyone was seriously injured.
