MANITOWOC COUNTY, WI — A woman died early Sunday morning after a single-vehicle accident off Wisconsin Highway 29 near the town of Maple Grove, according to NBC26.
The fatal collision occurred at the South St. Augustine Street overpass at about 12:18 a.m.
According to deputies with the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, the woman was driving eastbound on the highway when she veered off the roadway. Her vehicle then entered a ditch, ran up the embankment, and crashed into the overpass.
The female driver, a Town of Angelica resident, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
It was not immediately clear what caused the woman to leave the highway, but an investigation was underway.
