MILWAUKEE, WI — Multiple people were injured Tuesday night after a police pursuit led to a vehicle crashing into a residential building in Milwaukee’s Clarke Square neighborhood, reports TMJ4.
The collision occurred at the intersection of South 21st Street and West National Avenue shortly before 9:00 p.m.
According to Milwaukee Police, the events first unfolded when officers received reports of a possible burglary in the 1400 block of South 20th Street. Three suspects sped away in a car as police arrived at the scene, prompting a chase.
Authorities said the suspect vehicle ran a red light at corner of 21st and National, striking another moving vehicle and then a parked vehicle, which was then sent into another car. The suspect vehicle came to rest as it slammed into the building.
Three people in the suspect vehicle, as well as the occupants of the victim car at the intersection, were injured in the crash. It was unclear whether all the patients were transported to a hospital.
No one in the building was reported hurt, but authorities did not disclose the extent of damage to the structure.
WE crews also responded to the scene to repair a gas meter that was also hit during the collision.
The three suspects have since been arrested, according to Milwaukee police, who said they recovered illegal drugs and guns in the vehicle.
