WASHINGTON COUNTY, WI — A 79-year-old man died Wednesday afternoon after a two-vehicle collision on Wisconsin State Highway 33 near West Bend Municipal Airport, reports FOX6 Milwaukee.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said the fatal crash occurred shortly after 3:40 p.m., when they received a report about an “erratic” driver in the area.
The same driver was later found to have veered into oncoming traffic, striking another vehicle head-on.
First responders arrived to find the victim deceased at the scene.
No other injuries have been reported.
A section of the highway was closed for nearly two and a half hours as WCSO deputies, West Bend police, and West Bend Fire Department crews responded.
No other information has been released at this time, but an investigation was underway.
