MILWAUKEE, WI — A man was injured Wednesday when his vehicle crashed and caught fire during a police pursuit in Milwaukee’s McGovern Park area, reports FOX6 Milwaukee.
The collision occurred near the area of North 53rd Street and West Custer Avenue.
Witnesses said they saw officers pursuing a vehicle that later ran a stop sign and was swerving. The driver then appeared to lose control of their car as it drove up into a tree, came back down, and burst into flames.
Police and first responders pulled the driver out from the wreckage before it became fully engulfed in flames.
As of this writing, the Wisconsin State Patrol has not disclosed details on the condition of the driver or the circumstances behind the crash.
