RACINE COUNTY, WI — One driver was seriously injured Thursday afternoon in a multi-car wreck after failing to yield to traffic near southeast Mount Pleasant, according to Racine County Eye.
The collision occurred at the corner of Emmertsen Road and Washington Avenue, or Wisconsin Highway 20, on April 21, shortly before 4:00 p.m.
An early investigation indicates a silver sedan was heading westbound on Washington when its driver failed to yield to eastbound traffic that was traveling on a green light. Moments later, the sedan was hit by a pickup truck and a black sedan.
The Mount Pleasant Police Department said officers arrived to find all three vehicles at rest in the southeast corner of the intersection. One driver had to be extricated from the wreckage of one car.
Medics airlifted the driver of the silver sedan to Froedtert Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
No other injuries have been reported.
An investigation by the MPPD remains underway.
