OZAUKEE COUNTY, WI — A pregnant cow died Saturday, April 9, after being struck by a vehicle while loose on a road in the Town of Fredonia, according to Ozaukee Press.
The incident occurred on Jay Road, west of Wisconsin Highway 57, shortly before 8:41 a.m.
Captain Marshall Hermann with the Ozaukee Sheriff’s Office said a Cedar Grove resident was driving eastbound on the road when she collided with the animal.
No injuries to the driver were reported, but the cow died as a result of its injuries and was removed from the scene by its owner, a local man.
The striking vehicle sustained significant damage and had to be towed from the site.
