KENOSHA COUNTY, WI — A man died Sunday evening after a single-vehicle collision on Interstate 94 near the village of Bristol, according to TMJ4.
The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department said the fatal accident occurred on the northbound lanes near Frontage Road at about 5:30 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates the man was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound when, for reasons still being investigated, he lost control of the vehicle as he turned west. The Jeep collided with a barrier and caught fire.
A Good Samaritan stopped and was able pull the man out of the fiery wreckage. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Authorities confirmed he was the Jeep’s sole occupant, and no other injuries were reported.
An investigation by the Detective Bureau of the KCSD remains ongoing.
