MARQUETTE COUNTY, WI — A vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon closed Wisconsin Highway 23 in both directions near central Montello, according to 511 Wisconsin.
The collision occurred at the intersection with County Highway B, near Lake Montello. It was first reported by 511 at 1:24 p.m.

It was not immediately clear what caused the wreck or how many vehicles were involved, but all eastbound and westbound lanes were impacted.
By 2:34 p.m., more than an hour later, the scene had been cleared from the roadway with all lanes reopened to traffic.
