MILWAUKEE, WI — A vehicle accident Wednesday morning blocked a left lane on Interstate 43 near downtown Milwaukee’s Westown neighborhood, according to TTWN Milwaukee.
The crash happened on the northbound lanes approaching the West Kilbourn Avenue tunnel. It was first reported by TTWN at 8:10 a.m.

It was unclear what led up to the event, but commuters were told to expect stop-and-go traffic back to Wisconsin Avenue.
By 9:15 a.m., more than an hour later, the scene had been moved to the left shoulder. By then, a traffic backup had stretched down to Marquette Interchange.
