FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI — A 56-year-old Pickett woman was airlifted to a hospital Monday evening after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in northwest Rosendale, reports Radio Plus.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred on County Road M near Center Road, shortly before 5:30 p.m.
An early investigation indicates the woman was riding northbound on M when a driver tried to pass her and hit her with their vehicle’s passenger side mirror.
The victim was transported by helicopter to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah with serious injuries. Authorities noted she was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
It was unclear whether or not the driver remained at the scene. As of this writing, no information regarding any pending charges or citations have been released.
