WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — Eight box cars and a tanker flipped off railway tracks Saturday morning after a Canadian Pacific cargo train derailed in Pewaukee, reports Local12.
The incident took place on a stretch of railway along Pewaukee Lake.
According to Broadcastify, the conductor on the impacted train said they had struck a hot box west of the village, causing the emergency brakes to lock up and the train to then derail.
No injuries to anyone on board was reported.
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office said nearly all of the flipped cars were empty, except for one box car carrying lumber.
