MILWAUKEE, WI — Property damage was reported Monday morning after a two-vehicle collision caused a school bus to crash into a residence in Milwaukee’s Triangle area, according to WISN.
The accident occurred off the intersection of North 17th Street and West Vine Street at around 7:50 a.m.
An early investigation indicates a driver in an SUV sped past a stop sign and collided with the bus. The impact of the crash caused the bus to strike a group home that houses residents with disabilities.
Authorities said the driver of the SUV fled the scene moments after.
No injuries to any of the eight students on board or the driver were reported, but the incident damaged a newly-installed electrical wheelchair lift totaling $30,000.
As of this writing, authorities have still not located the suspect driver and no arrests or charges have been made.
