APPLETON, WI — An 18-year-old Menasha resident died early Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Wisconsin Highway 441 near southeast Appleton, according to WHBY.
The Wisconsin State Patrol said officers responded to the scene on the southbound highway east of Oneida Street shortly before 3:00 a.m.
An early investigation indicates a 22-year-old man from Little Chute was behind the wheel of a vehicle going southbound when he hit the pedestrian, who was walking north across the highway.
Medics rushed the victim to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
No injuries to the driver were reported.
A section of WIS-441 was shut down during the emergency response but was later reopened at around 6:00 a.m.
No further information has been disclosed at this time.
