MILWAUKEE, WI — A 17-year-old boy was hospitalized Wednesday morning after crashing a car into a business during a police chase in Milwaukee’s Franklin Heights area, reports TMJ4.

The collision occurred off the corner of North Teutonia Avenue and West Melvina Street shortly after 5:00 a.m.

Milwaukee Police said prior to the crash, officers attempted to pull over a suspicious vehicle in the 300 block of North 21st Street, but its driver sped off, prompting a short chase.

As the car turned at the intersection, it slammed into the New In and Out Detail auto repair shop.

The teen driver of the suspect vehicle was arrested and transported to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Two adults and a child in the vehicle were not reported hurt.

Authorities said narcotics were discovered in the vehicle and the teen faces criminal charges from the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
