MILWAUKEE, WI — A 42-year-old woman died Tuesday night after being struck by two vehicles in west Milwaukee’s Merrill Park area, according to TMJ4.
The fatal incident occurred in the 700 block of North 35th Street at approximately 10:55 p.m.
Milwaukee police said the woman was initially hit by one vehicle whose driver fled the scene, leaving her on the roadway. Moments later, the pedestrian was struck by another driver and pulled for several feet before the car came to a stop.
Responding officers arrived to find the victim pinned under the vehicle and suffering from serious bodily trauma. She was pronounced deceased deceased at the scene.
Authorities noted the victim had been struck and injured in another crash in 2019.
An investigation remains ongoing. As of this writing, police continue to search for the hit-and-run driver and their vehicle, a red SUV.
