OZAUKEE COUNTY, WI — A 51-year-old Cleveland man was hospitalized Tuesday evening after a two-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck on Interstate 43 near north Port Washington, reports TMJ4.

The accident occurred on the offramp from I-43 northbound to County Highway H and Wisconsin Highway 32 at around 5:15 p.m.

According to the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office, a 42-year-old Milwaukee man was driving a semi-truck southbound on the northbound ramp when he tried to perform a U-turn. Shortly after, it was struck by a northbound vehicle.

The crash left both vehicles disabled and blocking both northbound lanes.

Authorities said the driver of the victim vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to a Grafton hospital.

The driver of the semi was not reported injured. He has since been issued two citations for “Reckless Driving, Operating Wrong Way on Highway,” and charged with “Felony – 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety.”
