KENOSHA COUNTY, WI — A 29-year-old Racine woman died Friday morning after a single-vehicle rollover accident that injured another in north Kenosha, reports TMJ4.
The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department said the fatal collision occurred in the 1500 block of Sheridan Road shortly before 6:00 a.m.
An early investigation shows a 28-year-old Racine man was driving a green Buick LeSabre southbound at a high rate of speed when the vehicle veered into the northbound lanes. The Buick crashed into the east ditch line and hit multiple objects before it rolled onto its roof and burst into flames.
Authorities said the victim, a passenger in the vehicle, was ejected in the crash. She was rushed to Froedtert Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.
The driver sustained minor injuries. No further information has been released at this time regarding any pending charges.
Responding deputies said the vehicle received severe damage and was towed from the scene.
An investigation remains ongoing.
