RACINE COUNTY, WI — Two teenage boys were critically hurt late Friday night in a single-vehicle accident in south Burlington, according to CBS58.
The fatal accident happened near the corner of Clarance Street and Fish Hatchery Road at around 11:53 p.m.
The Racine County Sheriff’s Office said a vehicle had veered off the road and collided with two trees before bursting into flames.
Two male occupants aged 15 and 16 were conscious when they were extricated from the vehicle, but suffered critical injuries.
Authorities said the driver was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. His passenger was initially transported to Burlington’s Aurora Medical Center before also being flown to Children’s Hospital.
An investigation remains underway, but the RCSO suspects high speed factored into the collision.
